Calgary Perfect Storm Parents Association

Every year the Board will award eligible athletes with a scholarship to use towards the next season. The number of athletes and amount awarded is always dependent on the amount of fundraising done in the awarded season. Money is raised by the 5% Profit Holdback we retain from each fundraiser. Therefore the more individuals who participate throughout the season equals more money which results in the more scholarships that can be awarded.

There is a small criteria that is followed and we do ask for help from the Coaches at Perfect Storm Calgary to assist in nominating those who are eligible. We try our best to award at least 10 athletes or hopefully 1 athlete from each team.

To be eligible for a Scholarship your athlete (parent/guardian) must have:

• Participated in a minimum of one fundraiser in the current season

• Be enrolled in the All-Star Cheerleading Program

Below is the Scholarship Criteria we ask the Coaches to use when nominating an athlete:

• Contribution 

• Attitude (Sprit/Positivity) 

• Self-Discipline 

• Diligent 

• Punctual 

• Courteous 

• Team player

• Responsible

The above criteria is taken to PSA Calgary Coaches who are given a list of the current seasons eligible athletes. We ask them to nominate two athletes if the team is under 20 athletes, if the team has more then 20 athletes we request three names from that team.

 

From the names provided to us from the PSA Calgary Coaches a random draw will then be completed to select the scholarship recipient.

Scholarships are non-transferable and must be used for the current (2023/24) season.
